A definite "Not to be missed" Event..The Pre-School Christmas Nativity - Why, it's what Christmas is all about! Curtains open at 9.45am Followed by Refreshments and Raffle Hope to see you all there & don't forget the camera... ...& Didn't they do well! Our pre-school group of three and four-year-olds, preformed beautifully in their annual Christmas Nativity at Pre-School during the last week of term. The children quickly learned and enjoyed singing all the carols and they also rather enjoyed the dressing up... The audience of family and friends loved it; it was a brilliant performance and all the children joined in wonderfully Many thanks to all the parents, grandparents and friends for their support Leavers Celebration we invited all the children and their families to say a fond farewell to the children, who in January, will be putting on new school uniforms and moving up to Offwell C of E Primary School.
Our leavers were also presented with a book and book plate to commemorate their time with us and their move up to Big School. Each child was also given their development folder to keep, packed full of photo’s and info’ of what they have achieved whist at pre-school along with a laminated personalised “report” read out by their key worker...lots of tissues needed for that one! Thank you to all our Staff, Friends and Families who attended and helped to make this occasion so special ! Goodbye and Good luck to all our Leavers; we are all very proud of you!     December 2010...it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

...to be taking part in this year’s BBC Children in Need to support some of the most disadvantaged children and young people right here in the UK.
Our Pre-School children will be joining in the fun by coming to Pre-school on Thursday & Friday in Fancy Dress; Baking their very own Delicious Pudsey Biscuits and participating in a variety of Pudsey Art & Craft Activities...Watch out for very full Book Bags! Thank you for your support...& Well Done to all our Children - They raised over £20.00! ...Smile Please
On Tuesday 9th November Mike Newman from EVENTphoto will be visiting Pre-School to take individual & group photographs of all the children.
EVENTphoto was formed 10 years ago & Mike Newman has 30 years experience as a photographer and has worked as a family portrait photographer since 1989. The aim is to get three relaxed and natural poses as is possible from each family or child. Siblings and other family members are always welcome as are any favorite toys or books to compliment the images. Photographs are proofed back and portraits can be ordered in a range of sizes and finishes from a pack of a 7x5 and four 3.5 x 2.5, up to a 30x20 inch canvas wall print. Packages can be ordered of multiple images. Images by email or on CD with a copyright release are also available making sharing photos with relatives worldwide easy & all in time for Christmas! Starting on Tuesday 2nd November Ria Fabian from “Tatty Bumpkin” will be visiting Pre-school to carry out Yoga inspired Movement Classes for the children. Her visit to us back in September was so successful; her class encouraged our children to explore their physicality, increased their confidence and engaged their minds... as well as being so much fun, they didn’t even realise they're learning! So we just had to ask her to come back... The Six weekly sessions are on alternate Mondays & Tuesdays Session 1: Tuesday 2nd November 9:30 – 10:15 Session 2:Monday 8th November 9:45 – 10:30 Session 3: Tuesday 16th November 9:30 – 10:15 Session 4:Monday 22nd November 9:45 – 10:30 Session 5:Tuesday 30th November 9:30 – 10:15 Session 6: Monday 6th December 9:45 – 10:30 We would like to offer all our preschoolers the chance to attend and enjoy the yoga sessions – please see Kay, Michele or Julie . We will be holding our Pre-school Annual General Meeting on 21st September at 7.00pm at Offwell
C of E Primary School. The AGM is open to the parents of all of the children who attend the pre-school past and present & Future. The purpose of the meeting is to review the previous year's activities, to elect new committee members & to shape the coming year's activities. Offwell Primary School teachers support the committee. The Pre-school is a charity which is run by the committee working together with the staff as a team. The committee is the Ofsted Registered Provider and without a committee there can be no Pre-school. We have an Administrator, Secretary, Treasurer & Vice -Chair in place for next year but have vacancies for several new committee members, including Chairperson. If you feel that you would like to become more involved with the Preschool and would like to nominate yourself or anyone else, please contact any of the committee members or any of the staff. Nominations will also be accepted at the AGM... Many hands make light work. Behind every successful Pre-school is a strong committee of parents who get involved and help. Whether you have children who will be joining the Pre-school at a later date or you are already part of our pre-school community, please come along to find out what we do and how you can be involved. Anyone can attend the AGM and everybody is welcome. We look forward to welcoming you to the meeting!
13th September is officially Roald Dahl Day
& here at Offwell Under Fives Pre-School, we shall be celebrating with lots of Roald Dahl stories and related activities.
It would be lovely if your child could attend in fancy dress that day, as any character from a Roald Dahl story. Perhaps a Charlie and the Chocolate factory, Willy Wonka, James and the Giant Peach, Matilida or indeed anyone of his most fantastical characters. But please don’t panic – if in any doubt, your child could wear something yellow – Why yellow you ask? Because that was Roald Dahl’s favourite colour! Have a scrumdiddlyumptious Roald Dahl Day “And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it.” — Roald Dahl   The children most certainly did have an exceptionally Scrumdiddlyumptious Roald Dahl Day; they were dressed in their finest costumes whilst making enormous crocodiles and delectable peach juice - from James’ very own giant peach of course.

We are delighted that a Ria Fabian from “Tatty Bumpkin” will be visiting us at Pre-school, this Friday 10th September.
Tatty Bumpkin is an Award Winning Multi-Sensory, Yoga inspired Movement Class for children aged 2- 6 years - please visit their website for more info. We would like to offer all our preschoolers that Friday session (even if it’s not their normal day) so that they can enjoy a fun movement class together from 9:30-10:30. Please inform Kay, Michele or Julie if your child would like to attend. And of course our Toddler Group children are also invited.
